I've SURRENDERED! I think I've proved to myself and anybody else unlucky enough to come across my 'poems' that I can't write them! :)

RUSHING
I need to write a poem,
and it's getting rather late,
rushing to a deadline,
is something that I hate.
I need to write a poem,
but I've no idea on what.
I'd better think of something,
before I lose the plot.
I need to write a poem.
I need to write it quick.
I need to write a poem.
I guess that this is it.

BATTLE BUS
Maybe we should bring back Tony
And I say yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tony with the orange face now
And I say yeah, yeah, yeah.
He could always silence David
And I say yeah, yeah, yeah.
David with the sluggish face now
And I say yeah, yeah, yeah.
But looks like we're stuck with Gordon
And I say yeah, yeah, yeah.
Gordon with the worried face now
But I say YEAH, YEAH, YEAH.
(to the tune of 'Rehab')
Maybe we should bring back Tony

Day 5
TRIXIE WILLIS
Trixie Willis is a pantoum today
Tomorrow she might be a sonnet
Sometimes she loses her way.
Trixie Willis is so full of play
Every day can be outrageous
Trixie Willis is a pantoum today.
But sometimes the world is very grey
In the eyes and head of Trixie and
Sometimes she loses her way.
She hopes the blues will go away
When December turns into June
Trixie Willis is a pantoum today.
This isn't a pantoum! she hears you say,
It's a villanelle, she knows for sure, but
Sometimes she loses her way.
In June her head will clear and hips will sway
To the beat of sunshine and warmth, but
Trixie Willis is a pantoum today,
Sometimes she loses her way.

Day 4
EASTER BUNNY
REJOICE!
tis your birthday
on this important day
of resurrection and eggs.
so much to look forward to,
birthday boy -
after you've finished
the hoovering, mucked out
the bunnies and
made the lunch,
you can watch everton
on the telly.
and if all this was not enough,
there's something you
shouldn't forget.
CONGRATULATIONS!
now you qualify for
marriott's senior rate.

Day 2
A bit more time today ... this page is dedicated to the National Poetry Writing Month - or NaPoWriMo - with the challenge to write a poem every day throughout April. I don't generally do poems. I did some for A215, but only one of those was any good, according to my published poet tutor - so I haven't touched poetry in A363.
GOOD FRIDAY
Not forgotten
Still
At the place
Where you died
Still
They kill.
Not forsaken
Til
Every last inch
Of ground is theirs
Til
The end.
Not forbidden
Will
The hatred be,
And the ruins
Will
Lie still.
Not forgotten.
But who cares?

Day 1
I've only just found out about this and I have 40 mins to write my first poem! OK ... It doesn't have to rhyme or anything, does it?!
HIGH CHOLESTEROL
She peered above her glasses,
A priestess of solemnity
And with a tut and a grating
of teeth, she said,
'Statins for you!'
I peered back, eyes wide and blurred,
Shifting forward in my seat
Thinking of the fats and gooey
things I couldn't eat
'Not for me,' I said.
I'd rather starve,
I'd rather be thin,
I'd rather (maybe) even
be dead.
Chocolate is missing
from the diet sheet
Is that a joke,
considering the day and all?
A jovial typo? Hello?
A fifteen mile run
No Hot Cross Bun
Or breakfast in bed
with bacon.
Herring,
Walnuts,
Marmite,
Lentil?
Come on!
